Term-time Accommodation
Applications for Academic Accommodation must comply with the Regulation on Applications for Accommodation in SASNOVA Residencies and the deadline for applications is the same as that for scholarship applications. (Exceptional situations may be considered after this deadline.)
Priority is given to SASNOVA scholarship students and students on exchange programmes (Erasmus) when allocating accommodation. Only after these vacancies have been filled out can an accommodation application process be opened for other SASNOVA students.
Scholarship Students
Students applying for a scholarship should send their accommodation application at the same time as their scholarship application, through the website of the General Directorate of Higher Education (DGES).
At the start of the academic year (September), a prior assessment is carried out of the scholarship students requesting accommodation and a provisional list of accepted students is published. After this, the accommodation application must be made official in accordance with the instructions of the SASNOVA Student Support Division.
Priority is given to the students who have been previously housed and to first-year applicants.
Students requesting accommodation for the first time must attend a prior interview at SASNOVA, submit their application and attach the relevant documents to allow their case to be assessed and the result to be published in good time.
Students with scholarships are preferentially housed in the Alfredo de Sousa Residency and the Fraústo da Silva Residency, depending on the faculty they will be attending. Twin rooms are always allocated to first cycle students.
Exchange/ Erasmus Students
Exchange / Erasmus students must request accommodation at the Erasmus office of Faculty they will be studying in.

Only after this offices confirm to the students that their application is approved, they should submit the Term-Time Accommodation Form to confirm the request.
The number of vacancies allocated to Erasmus students is communicated to each Unit’s Erasmus office. They in turn send the list of students requesting accommodation to SASNOVA (September).
Other Students
If there are available places after the Scholarships and Exchange/Erasmus students applications, the SASNOVA will publish in this site the application for Other Students:
- From 15th September – 1st term;
- From 15th January – 2nd term.
Interested students must do their application filling the Term-Time Accommodation Form.
Temporary Accommodation
Students, professors or researchers wishing to stay at the SASNOVA Halls of Residence must fill in and submit the Temporary Accommodation Form. They will then be informed of the availability for the dates required.
