The Social Support Fund is a support program for students in need, complementary to scholarships awarded by the General Directorate of Higher Education (DGES), within the scope of social responsibility of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA), promoted and managed by the Services of Social Action of the New University of Lisbon (SASNOVA).
The Fund is intended for all students enrolled and enrolled at NOVA in 1st cycle and integrated master’s courses and aims to prevent school dropouts and promote support for the inclusion of students in active life.
The support granted has as a guiding principle in the attribution criteria the economic situation of the student, as well as the academic performance, namely the number of curricular units completed and respective grades.
The Fund provides the following support:
Emergency subsidies: sharing of expenses for students whose social emergency situation does not fit into the DGES support system;
Student Collaboration: sharing of student expenses through collaboration with the university, in activities promoted by Organic Units and NOVA services;
Other forms of support: that fit the Fund’s objectives and are duly regulated.
